Biography

LMC Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare USA anatomic pathology practice, is privileged to include Michael Markow, M.D., D.A.B.P., as part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Markow has robust academic, research, and professional experience in medicine.

Dr. Markow graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with two bachelor degrees. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology and microbiology along with a Bachelor of Arts in history. Immediately following his undergraduate degrees, he attended Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies, where he earned his medical degree. He completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at University of South Florida Health in Tampa. Through his residency, he worked at Tampa General Hospital, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office, James A. Haley and Bay Pines Veterans’ Hospitals, and Oneblood. After his residency, he completed a fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology at The Ohio State University in Columbus where he was trained in clinical, teaching, and research methods.

Prior to joining LMC Pathology Services, Dr. Markow was the medical laboratory director and surgical pathologist at The Ohio Gastroenterology and Liver Institute. He has extensive research experience and has presented papers or published peer-reviewed articles in the fields of oncology and gastrointestinal pathology.

Dr. Markow belongs to several professional organizations including the College of American Pathologists, American Society of Clinical Pathology, United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, and the Ohio Society of Pathology.

Dr. Markow holds full medical licensure and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and hematology.
