LMC Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice is privileged to include Heather R. Gridley, M.D., as a member of our medical team. Dr. Gridley has extensive research experience with an impressive academic and teaching background.
Dr. Gridley graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science, and subsequently, earned her medical degree from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She completed a four-year anatomic pathology residency at Orlando Health in Florida, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She later completed her hematopathology fellowship at the University of New Mexico Department of Pathology in Albuquerque and subsequently trained at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida as an oncologic surgical pathology fellow.
Dr. Gridley participated in various pathology-related research efforts and has given numerous oral and board presentations and a case review throughout her postgraduate training. During this time, she was a member of the Orlando Health Resident Liaison Committee, the Orlando Health Blood Bank Utilization Committee, and the Moffitt Cancer Center Graduate Medical Education Institutional Review Board. She also held a teaching role, where she imparted her knowledge on topics like “Plasma Cell Neoplasms” and “Transfusion Reactions” to resident and medical students weekly at Orlando Health and the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Gridley began her professional career at the Florida Brain Bank, where she contributed to brain removal, processing, and preservation for Alzheimer’s research. After three years of employment, she transitioned to the colon and rectal clinic of Orlando, taking on the responsibility of grossing small biopsies.
Dr. Gridley is a member of three professional organizations, including the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She holds full medical licensure and is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and hematopathology.
