Biography

LMC Pathology Services, a Sonic Healthcare Anatomic Pathology Practice, is pleased to include Bradley J. Cheek, M.D., F.C.A.P., as part of its dynamic medical staff. Dr. Cheek has an impressive and extensive academic and medical professional background.

Dr. Cheek earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry from Louisiana College in Pineville. Subsequently, he earned his medical degree from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He then completed his neurosurgery, and anatomic and clinical pathology residencies at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he also became a chief resident in his final year. Dr. Cheek transitioned to his pediatric pathology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, LA where he trained as a pediatric pathologist before concluding his post-graduate training. He then became a pediatric pathologist at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation of New Orleans, LA.

Dr. Cheek held the position for medical director of pediatric pathology at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, the section chief of pediatric pathology at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville, and the laboratory director of Baptist Oakleaf Laboratory.

Over the years, Dr. Cheek has developed extensive hospital, anatomic, and clinical experience. He attends weekly adult pathology and general pediatric tumor boards, weekly neuro-oncology multidisciplinary conferences, weekly pathology-surgery-radiology-GI case conferences, and bimonthly soft tissue tumor multidisciplinary conferences. His positions as medical director of pediatric pathology, section chief of pediatric pathology, and laboratory director puts him in an outstanding and recognizable position as a medical professional serving the community. He is also recognized for his clinical teaching work at the University of Florida College of Medicine as an adjunct faculty member.

Dr. Cheek has been honored with various academic achievements and publications, in addition to his extensive research. He is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Pediatric Pathology, College of American Pathologists, and the American Association for Physician Leadership where he holds candidacy for certified physician executive.

Dr. Cheek holds full medical licensure in several states and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, and pediatric pathology.
