PROSTATE SEXTANT BIOPSY KITS

Urology prostate sextant biopsy kits will be provided for clients.

This kit will include 8 containers of formalin for needle biopsies

from eight different sites: Rt. Base, Rt. Mid, Rt. Apex, Rt. Lat

Mid, Lt. Base, Lt. Mid, Lt. Apex, and Lt. Lat. Mid.

Each specimen container will have a color-coded label on the lid stating the site:

RIGHT BASE RED

RIGHT MID PINK

RIGHT APEX ORANGE

RIGHT LATERAL MID PURPLE

LEFT BASE YELLOW

LEFT MID BLUE

LEFT APEX GREEN

LEFT LATERAL MID DARK BLUE

The client will need to label the container on the side with the

patient name and place in the appropriate location holder in the kit. Unused vials should not be returned. The requisition should be folded and placed in the plastic pouch on the lid of the box.
