STAT AND PRIORITY CASES

LMC will provide clients with labels to triage cases that are “STAT” or “PRIORITY”.

STAT cases are designated with a red label. STAT status should include specimens such as:

1. Frozen sections

2. Immediate pathology consultation

3. Bone marrow biopsies

4. Cerebral spinal fluid

5. Lymphoma protocol

6. Flow cytometry

7. Cytogenetics

8. Muscle biopsies

9. Renal biopsies

10. Nerve biopsies

PRIORITY cases are designated with a yellow label. PRIORITY status should include specimens such as:

1. Dermatology specimens for immunofluorescence

2. Fine needle aspirations

3. Bile for crystal analysis
