Pathology
The LMC gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology service offers
expert diagnostic capability in the areas of inflammatory bowel
disease, gastric ulcer disease, hepatitis, and neoplasms of the GI
tract and liver.Through interpretation of core biopsies or fine
needle aspirations, LMC pathologists may distinguish between
benign and malignant and primary and metastatic hepatic tumors.
The treatment of stomach and colon tumors is progressing and
entering the molecular age. LMC offers cutting edge molecular/immunohistochemical
diagnostics which enable the gastroenterologist and oncologist to
treat the patient with the most up to date and effective
anti-tumor medications.
Dr. Yumiaco
is the director of the Gastrointestinal pathology service. He
provides timely and accurate biopsy results and is available for
consultation on difficult biopsies. He has gained the respect of
local and regional gastroenterologists.
Dr. Yumiaco has co-founded a monthly clinico-pathologic conference, which
concentrates on cutting edge
management of liver diseases and
hepatitis. This conference offers CME credits and is well attended by
gastroenterologists and other health
